On Tuesday night, the UConn women's basketball team lost in a surprise upset.

By a final score of 69-64 against unranked St. Johns, Geno Auriemma, and the No. 4 Huskies suffered their sixth defeat of the 2022–23 campaign.

The UConn women's basketball team dropped two games in conference play for the first time in more than ten years as a result of this defeat. A month ago, the squad suffered a defeat against unranked Marquette.

Before tonight's game, the Huskies were rated as 19.5-point favorites. In New York earlier this year, they had a 30-point victory over the Red Storm.

With 20 points each, Kadaja Bailey and Danielle Patterson were the Red Storm's top scorers. St. John's made 50% of its 3-point attempts and outrebounded its opponents 42-37.
