Wild High School Ladies Basketball Scandal Gets Global

After a video of a high school basketball teacher in Virginia touching a spectator went global, an inquiry is still going on.

Tom Rife, the head coach of Richlands High School, was caught on camera pushing a spectator away after jumping over the bench to challenge him. Throughout the episode, the observer didn't seem to fight.

The Tazewell County Board of Education's superintendent, Dr. Chris Stacy, stated in a statement on Friday that they are presently looking into the situation and do not tolerate misconduct or behavior of that nature from their teachers or onlookers.

"We are aware of the incident at the RHS basketball game and while we do not condone any misconduct from our coaches or spectators at this time we are still investigating the actions of all parties involved,"

For more than 50 years, Rife has coached at Richlands High School. However, a situation like this could spell the end of his tenure at the school, particularly given how incriminating the video appears to be.

Even if Rife argues that the fan should have been kicked out because they were heckling him, his actions will still be closely examined.

Some have already demanded Rife's dismissal, and absent any shocking revelations, that seems like a likely result.
