The governor of Illinois said that the state would not pay any of the costs for the billion-dollar project, which will put a damper on the Chicago Bears' ambitions to construct a new stadium in the upcoming years.

Pritzker said, “I am of the opinion that it’s not our obligation as the state to step in and provide major funding, and I certainly don’t want to burden taxpayers with major support for a private business."
