Travis Pastrana was in an intense battle in the final laps of Sunday's Daytona 500 after escaping all of the mayhem until the end.

Travis remained untouched, by the time Daniel Suarez's spin caused a delay and the race reached overtime.

Pastrana, who was slightly outside the top 20, climbed to 12th place.

The first overtime clash was prevented by the legend when Austin Dillon made a wrong turn and climbed to the 11th position.

“Man, that was going really, really well until the last lap,” Pastrana said.

He added, “Had a not-great pit, then had a pit penalty, so I had to come back in, that got us a lap down, but the crew never stopped working. We had a great car.”

The Daytona 500 is a "one and done" event for Pastrana. He although, leaves the possibility of Niece Motorsports participating in the Truck Series.
