Reddick's vehicle spun out as a result, picking off a number of further vehicles before causing a lane issue that totaled a number of additional vehicles.

When everything was over, Chase Elliott, who won the 2022 regular season, Reddick, Erik Jones, Ryan Blaney, and Ryan Blaney all crashed and were unable to finish the race.

Elliott suffered the most since he needed medical treatment before he could rejoin his squad. Yet he was shortly exonerated.

In each of his first two NASCAR Cup Series seasons, Elliott claimed the pole. Nevertheless,

he has only twice placed in the top 10 at the Daytona 500, with his best result coming in 2021 when he came in second to Michael McDowell.
