NFL Defensive Back Announces Retirement
Veteran defensive back Chris Banjo, a special teams captain for 10 NFL seasons, has decided to retire.
On his 33rd birthday, Banjo posted on Twitter that his playing days were over and that he was grateful for every step of his professional football career.
"That’s all folks!" Banjo posted. "Thankful for 33 years of life!! Thankful for the journey. The cats are already out of the bag! But on my 33rd Birthday, I'm officially retiring from PLAYING in the NFL."
After going unclaimed out of SMU, Banjo spent a decade playing in the NFL, spending time with the Packers, Saints, and Cardinals.
The 33-year-old emphasized in his farewell speech that he is "retiring from playing," despite recent rumors suggesting that he might have a position on Sean Payton's Broncos coaching team this football season.
A fantastic success for the Texan native from Sugar Land.
