NBA Players Get Jails Time For Fraud Scheme

Due to their participation in a fraud operation, two former NBA players have received jail sentences.

Today, sentences were given to Keyon Dooling and Alan Anderson in the southern district of the state of New York. Anderson was given a 24-month sentence, while Dooling was given a 30-month term.

The retired players' health and welfare benefits program of the NBA was used in a conspiracy involving the ex-players.

Among the 18 ex-players accused in connection with the conspiracy that involved around $4 million in false claims were Dooling and Anderson.

Dooling got false reimbursements totaling $363,000. He is also suspected of helping others file bogus claims for more than $194,000 with his help.

In order to facilitate a total of $710,000, Anderson filed $121,000 in bogus claims and also attracted more participants.

Former athletes Terrence Williams and Glen Davis are also reportedly complicit in the plot.

Williams is accused of orchestrating the plan and luring other participants into it by presenting them with false invoices. He allegedly got payments totaling $230,000.
