Texas dismissed basketball coach Chris Beard last month. After he was detained in December for an alleged assault, this choice was made.

At first, Beard was accused of assault by suffocation or strangling. Third-degree felony, that.

Reports state that Beard was charged with biting, throwing, and choking his fiancée. When this claimed assault allegedly took place, she dialed 911 because she didn't feel comfortable.

However, Travis County District Attorney José Garza disclosed on Wednesday that his office has submitted a motion to dismiss the Beard case.

Beard's domestic violence case has been dismissed, and the collegiate basketball community anticipates his return to the bench very soon.

"Do not be surprised if Chris Beard is back coaching somewhere next season," Jeff Goodman of Stadium wrote. "In fact, I would be more surprised if he weren’t coaching now that the charge has been dropped."

Jason Scheer of WildcatAuthority.com tweeted, "Who's firing their coach early to hire him?"

"He’s gonna get another job and that school will fall all over themselves to explain the hire,"

The District Attorney's office claims this felony offense involving Beard "cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt."
