All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner and the Rams have amicably decided to part ways, which is a startling change of events. Adam Schefter of ESPN just now revealed the story.

This Thursday, Wagner will be released, giving the Rams some much-needed salary room. His 2023 season salary charge would have been $12.75 million.

On the other side, Wagner now has an opportunity to stand out among this year's crop of free agents.

Wagner is still a game-changer on the field even at this point in his tenure.

"Bobby Wagner started all 17 games this past season for the Rams and was PFF’s highest-graded linebacker," Schefter said. "Wagner was voted All-Pro for the ninth straight year."

Wagner inked a five-year, $50 million deal with the Rams last offseason. He had 140 total stops for the 2022 campaign, six pressures, and two interceptions.
