'League Wide Expectations' A Great Wide Receiver

In Football circles, DeAndre Hopkins' status is still a hot subject.

The wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals signed a two-year extension in 2020, but there is no guaranteed money remaining on it, so his status with the team is uncertain.

The scenario was updated on Thursday by The 33rd Team's NFL reporter Alex Meirov.

"The league-wide expectation is he is going to be dealt at some point this offseason."

"This year's free agent class is not that deep, which could make the trade market for receivers a popular destination,"

"It's a new regime in Arizona, they want to get younger. Hopkins needs a new contract as well, everyone involved would like to get a fresh start. This one is more than likely going to happen at some point this offseason.”

After serving a six-game suspension to start the year, Hopkins completed this season with 717 receiving yards on 64 receptions and three scores.
