Elite Eight Teams Predicts By ESPN's Computer

Selection Sunday is two weeks from last night. The NCAA Championship is just around the corner.

ESPN's Basketball Power Index (BPI)--"a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of performance going forward"--has been updating its tournament projections frequently.

The chance that each squad will reach the Elite Eight is one of the measures the BPI uses for its championship forecasting

These are the eight schools that, as of right now, have the best chances of making it to the Elite Eight, along with the likelihood that they will.

(1) Houston - 74.6% (2) Tennessee - 60.7% (3) Alabama - 60.6% (4) UCLA - 48.9%

(5) UConn - 38.9% (6) Purdue - 36.5% (7) Texas - 36.4% (8) Kansas - 33.4%

Don't forget that these odds will change almost every day. When the bracket is revealed and we can see which teams are in which specific regions, they will particularly change

This week sees the start of the first conference tournaments, with the majority of teams competing the following week building up to Selection Sunday.

On March 12 at 6 p.m. ET, CBS will broadcast the formal announcement of the 2023 NCAA Tournament lineup
