Eric Bieniemy, the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, has won his second Super Bowl in the past four years and is about to let his contract with the organization expire. It seems that he has an NFC team as his main choice.

Bieniemy will interview with the Washington Commanders for the open position of offensive coordinator, claims NFL source Ian Rapoport.

According to the article, he is the Commanders' top choice for the post, and Greg Roman, a former offensive coordinator for the Ravens, is the only other applicant.

"The #Commanders will interview #Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy tomorrow for their still-vacant OC job, source said. He's a top candidate. They spoke with Greg Roman yesterday, which went well, and have no other interviews scheduled," Rapoport wrote.

However, from the perspective of job progression, Eric Bieniemy could be forced to make the change.

Since Bieniemy has been surrounded by excellent coaches and top players throughout his career, the myth has persisted for years that he is ineligible to be the head coach of an NFL team because of this.

To put it mildly, it's unfair. Over the past five years, coaches who have accomplished less with more have been given head coaching positions instead of Bieniemy, and some of them haven't even survived a complete season.

However, it appears like Bieniemy will spread his wings outside of Kansas City for the 2023 season and beyond.
